DOGEPY · HOUSE RULES
Gomoku open fours and defense
Connect stones on a 15×15 board. Dogepy uses freestyle rules without Renju forbidden moves.
Before you play
- Place one stone on an empty intersection per turn.
- Five or more contiguous stones horizontally, vertically or diagonally win.
- An overline of six or more also wins.
- Double-three and double-four moves are not forbidden.
- A full board without a winner is a draw.
Playing a hand
- Choose a mode and place a stone on your turn.
- Look for immediate wins for both sides.
- Otherwise build connections with open ends.
- Review the final winning direction before restarting.
A worked play example
- · ● ● ● ● ·
- Either endpoint completes five
- One defensive stone leaves the other end
Why an open four is urgent
Empty–black–black–black–black–empty has two winning endpoints. White cannot block both in one turn, so prevent the open four earlier.
An immediate winning move for White takes priority: pattern-based defense should not make you overlook your own winning fifth stone.
Read more than one direction
Concentrating all stones along one line can leave only one easily blocked threat. Intersections between a row and a diagonal can create several future threats.
Players accustomed to Renju should remember that this game has no forbidden moves. A six-stone winning line is an intended result here.
