DOGEPY · HOUSE RULES
Onecard attacks and special cards
Match the rank or active suit and empty your hand. Distinguish changing suits from defending an attack.
Before you play
- The deck contains 52 ordinary cards and two jokers.
- Match the active suit or top rank; a joker is freely playable outside attacks.
- Two attacks for two cards, Ace for three, and Joker for five; attacks accumulate.
- During an attack only attack cards may be played, regardless of suit. Seven cannot defend.
- Seven and Joker choose the next suit. Seven must first be legally playable. In a two-player game J, Q and K grant another turn.
Playing a hand
- Read the active suit and pending attack, not just the top picture.
- Play an eligible card and choose a suit after Seven or Joker.
- Draw when unable to play, taking the accumulated amount during an attack.
- The last-card announcement is automatic. Plan how to play that final card.
A worked play example
- 2 (+2) → A (+3) = 5 pending
- → JOKER (+5) = 10 pending
- Seven cannot defend an attack
Two followed by Ace means five
Responding to a Two with an Ace accumulates five cards, even if their suits differ. A subsequent Joker raises it to ten. Seven cannot cancel this attack.
Attack cards also provide future defense. Spending one as soon as possible is not always the strongest choice.
The chosen suit can differ from the picture
If an opponent plays spades Seven and chooses hearts, hearts is now the active suit. A heart, another Seven, or a Joker can be played outside an attack.
J, Q and K grant another turn in two-player play. Pairing one with another card of the same suit can clear two cards in succession. Do not assume multiplayer direction rules from other variants.
