DOGEPY · HOUSE RULES
Solitaire draw-one and tableau planning
Dogepy uses draw-one Klondike. Exposing hidden cards and moving cards to foundations serve different purposes.
Before you play
- Seven columns receive one through seven cards, with only each final card face up.
- Tableau builds downward in alternating colors; foundations build A–K in one suit.
- Only a King or a valid King-led sequence enters an empty column.
- Draw one card; recycle the waste when the stock is empty, with no pass limit.
- Win by moving all 52 cards to foundations. Returning foundation cards to the tableau is not supported.
Playing a hand
- Select a face-up card or sequence, then a receiving column.
- Exposed face-down cards turn over automatically.
- Draw when needed; only the top waste card is available.
- Build foundations from Aces, checking what automatic collection moves.
A worked play example
- ♠8 ← ♥7 · ♣6 : legal
- ♦8 ← ♥7 · ♣6 : illegal
- Empty column ← K only
Look beneath the move
Red seven and black six can move together onto black eight, but not red eight. Prefer moves that expose a hidden card when both choices preserve useful routes.
An empty column is not general storage. Moving a waste King there can unlock access to the card beneath it.
Auto collection is not a solver
Automatic collection moves currently eligible cards to foundations without proving that the remaining deal is solvable. Moving a low card too early may remove a useful tableau destination.
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. If a complete stock pass produces no useful change, use undo to explore a different branch or start another deal.
