About

Go-Stop is a classic Korean card game played with 48 hwatu cards, collecting gwang, animals, ribbons, and junk for points. Dogepy offers it free with real hwatu art and official rules like ppeok, jjok, and ttak.

The tension of choosing 'Go' or 'Stop' once you reach 3 points is the heart of it, with multiplayer for up to 4 players.

How to play

  1. Tap a hand card to capture same-month cards on the field (else it's placed on the field).
  2. Then one card flips from the deck and captures the same way.
  3. Collect Gwang/animals/ribbons/junk to reach 3 points.
  4. At 3+ choose Go/Stop! Go chases more points but risks a comeback by the opponent.

Rules

  • Played with 48 hwatu cards: 7 in hand, 8 on the field. Play a card to capture field cards of the same month.
  • Captured cards are sorted into Gwang (bright), animals, ribbons and junk for points.
  • 3 Gwang=3pts (2 with rain-gwang), 4=4, 5=15; Hongdan/Cheongdan/Chodan 3pts each; Godori 5pts; ribbons/animals from 5, junk from 10.
  • At 3+ points, call 'Go' to continue or 'Stop' to win. Stop before your opponent to win!
