About
The Midnight Museum is a pixel stealth puzzle about cooperating with your past self. Record and rewind your actions through twelve handcrafted galleries, using pressure plates and guard distractions to steal the relic.
How to play
- In the first room, collect the crown and return to the exit.
- Stand on a plate and rewind to leave an echo. Allow time for your echo to reach the plate.
- Aim for fewer total actions, including recordings. Progress and each room's best stars save in this browser.
Rules
- Move one tile with arrow keys, WASD or a tap on an adjacent tile. Time moves only when you act.
- Take the relic back to the mint exit to clear a room. A bonus gem and fewer total actions earn extra stars.
- Press R to rewind and record an echo. Up to two echoes replay your actions and wait at their final positions.
- Plates A and B open matching doors. An A+B door requires both plates at once.
- Guards check their red straight-line sight after each action. A whistle turns guards within six tiles toward the sound for one turn.
- Space waits, N whistles and Z undoes a turn. Lasers alternate two turns on, two off. You can undo or rewind after being caught.
